Do All Year Groups Start on the Same Day?

Not always. Reception classes very often have a staggered start: a few days of shorter sessions or small groups before the full cohort arrives together. Year 7s starting secondary school sometimes get an induction day slightly ahead of the rest of the school. If you have a child starting Reception or Year 7, don't assume the "back to school" date on the general calendar applies to them in full from day one. Check with the school directly.

What If My School Hasn't Told Me Yet?
