My School Agent started as a bit of code written by a frustrated dad. Now it helps families across the country stay on top of school life without the stress.
Hi, I'm Matt. I'm not a tech guru, just a parent trying to juggle work, a busy family, and the never-ending stream of school emails.
It started with a simple frustration. I kept missing things. One minute everything is fine, the next I'm being told I need to source a Victorian chimney sweep outfit for tomorrow morning. Sound familiar?
So I wrote a bit of code to read my school emails and send a summary to my phone each morning. Just the facts. No fluff. What to pack, where to be, what was due.
I forwarded the first summary to a few mates. The response was immediate: "Can I get this every day?"
It turns out I wasn't the only one drowning in newsletters, PDF attachments, WhatsApp group messages, and party invite photos. The mental load of tracking school admin on top of everything else is real, and it falls disproportionately on a small number of people in every household.
So we added WhatsApp forwarding, photo scanning for party invites, multi-language briefings, smart speaker support, and shopping suggestions. Now the whole family can stay in the loop — mum, dad, grandparents — all from a single shared calendar.
